The sportsman drew his first breath in Queens, New York to his parents Cathy and Joe. His dad was addicted to drugs and didn’t take part in son’s upbringing. Meanwhile, the mother died of cancer, when he was just 12. That’s why a future star was raised by his grandmother.
At first, Lamar played for Christ The King Regional High School but then transferred to Redemption Christian Academy in Troy. In addition to that he also played college basketball for the University of Rhode Island.
In 1999 the athlete was drafted by the LA Clippers, where he spent seven seasons before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. After the move, he started demonstrating bad results and so, in 2012 was traded back to the Clippers. In 2014 he played briefly for Laboral Kutxa Baskonia in Spain. That same year he signed a contract with New York Knicks but didn’t appear in the team’s season finale and that’s why was waived. In 2018 he joined Mighty Sports, which is a Philippine club that played in the 30th Dubai International Basketball Tournament.
