Keith Urban

A gifted country music singer Keith Urban drew his first breath in New Zealand to his parents Marienne and Robert.

As a child he relocated with the family to Australia, where he grew up. At a young age he got passionate about music and learnt to play the Hawaiian guitar at the age of just 4. He had a dream of becoming a recognized singer and composer and his dream did come true!

A future star dropped out of high school at 15 to pursue a music career. However, the path to stardom wasn’t that smooth as he thought it would be. At the very beginning, he used to work part-time as a guitarist in several groups and at some point even lost any hope for success. Yet, things changed in 1991 when he signed a contract with EMI and presented a debut album Keith Urban. To his huge surprise, the songs began taking leading positions in Australian as well as American charts. Just a year after that the artist created a band The Ranch that released only one album and broke up. Despite this, the singer didn’t give up and kept writing lyrics. He started rising back to prominence in 2001 which gave him an opportunity to introduce one album after the other one.

Today, the celebrity can boast of presenting 12 studio albums, 52 singles and 4 compilation albums. In addition to that, he is a winner of dozens of awards, including Country Music Award of Australia, Best Male Country Vocal Performance, etc.
