Bio
A talented movie star Omar Sy drew his first breath in Trappes, France. His mother, who is originally from Mauritania, worked as a housekeeper. Meanwhile, the father, who is from Senegal, was a factory worker. The actor has seven siblings.
As a kid and teen, Omar was a very sociable person and that’s why went to work as a DJ on a radio at a young age. Having graduated from school, he was offered to create his own show and in such a way, he started hosting Le Visiophon. After some time, a comedy partner Fred Testot joined the show, which made it even more popular. However, after several years, the ratings began falling and Sy made a decision to purse acting career.
He debuted on a big screen in 2001 with a minor role in a French comedy called La Tour Montparnasse Infernale. After that he used to appear in about 5-6 television projects a year. Nonetheless, what really helped him rise to prominence is his main role in a comedy-drama film Intouchables.
