Perhaps, there wouldn’t be even one person, who wouldn’t know such an outstanding movie star as Renee Zellweger. She was welcomed in a little town called Katy in Texas. Her father Emil is an immigrant from Switzerland who is an engineer by profession. Meanwhile, her mother Kjellfrid is of a Norwegian descent and is a nurse. The family also includes a brother Drew, who works as a marketing specialist.
During the time at school, Renee was interested in gymnastics as well as cheerleading. However, her biggest passion was acting. That’s why she was a member of various drama clubs and teams.
Having graduated from the university, she went to break into Hollywood. However, her first attempt failed and Zellweger had no other option but to come back home. Back home, she started appearing in different projects with minor roles. During one of the auditions she got acquainted with Matthew McConaughey, who persuaded her to go to LA for the second time and this time it worked.
The actress began featuring in dramas and comedies until she rose to stardom thanks to the main role in a popular film called Bridget Jones’s Diary of 2001. It brought her not only worldwide fame but also a nomination for an Oscar. In 2004 and 2016 producers made the sequels of the franchise.
